Education that goes above-and-beyond

Red Apple Grants are awarded each year to teachers throughout Warsaw Community Schools. They cover above-and-beyond learning opportunities as well as classroom accessories that enable access and inclusion (such as new equipment for students with special needs.) Every grant is a teacher’s idea for exceptional learning that falls outside the school’s budget. A Red Apple Grant bridges the gap between a teacher’s dream and reality.

The STEM activities our Red Apple Grant enabled us to purchase created an atmosphere that engaged all students. It was evident they were excited to learn.

Why Red Apple Grants?

Red Apple Grants provide funding, through community support, to the educators of Warsaw Community Schools for the creation and implementation of enriching academic opportunities for students.

How are grants awarded?

Grants are awarded based on how well the requests fit the Foundation’s mission, vision and values. Proposals are ranked in a blind evaluation against a rubric that scores the innovation of the project; the impact on student learning; and the clarity of the plan to carry out the project. Those receiving the highest overall score are prioritized to receive grant awards. Criteria include relevance, creativity and innovation and feasibility.
