How are grants awarded?
Grants are awarded based on how well the requests fit the Foundation’s mission, vision and values. Proposals are ranked in a blind evaluation against a rubric that scores the innovation of the project; the impact on student learning; and the clarity of the plan to carry out the project. Those receiving the highest overall score are prioritized to receive grant awards. Criteria include relevance, creativity and innovation and feasibility.
What criteria are considered?
Scoring in each area will be based on the following:
Relevance
- A tie to student need
- Skills that will benefit students
Creativity and Innovation
- Student experiences beyond the typical classroom
- Experiences innovative ways of learning
Feasibility
- Achievable student learning goals
- Achievable schedule
- A plan of assessment of student learning
- A clear, detailed, line-item budget including total amount requested
